::Our First 3 Days of School::
Sunday, January 6, 2013

Our first 3 days of school went on smoothly. We spent time catching up on what we did during the holidays as well as firming up on what we want as a class. This includes the class rules, going through the class routines over and over again as part of reinforment and also doing our part to decorate the classroom. Our theme this year is, 'Under the Sea' and we did start off a bit this week. Hopefully, we could get our class done up by next Friday with some of the parents coming on board to help us with the classroom decorations.

We had trial 'run' for our future monitor and monitress too. They were given some opportunities to take charge of the class and I must say some of them were very outstanding candidates. Besides being confident and bold, I told my pupils that monitors must exercise self-discipline, must have good self-control before they can control and lead others. Also, being so, does not mean, they only practise or portray good behaviour in just one term that they are being selected as class monitors. I hope when my pupils are being given the opportunity to be one, they will continue this good attitude throughout as other pupils will see them as great role models. It is definitely not something easy for my P2s but certainly achievable.

What's in store for this upcoming week?
  • Temperature Taking Exercise on Monday, 7th Jan 2013
  • Putting pupils into their groups for Term 1
  • Voting for Term 1 Monitor and Monitress
  • Selecting pupils for other leadership roles (Every Child a Leader)
  • Firming up on class and group routines
  • Math - Unit 1: Numbers to 1000
  • EL - Big Book: The Underground Dance
  • Class Decor with Parents on Friday, 11th Jan 2013
To end the entry, here are the snapshots of the week!
